Can you really break free from unforgiveness??
Take a good look at the rope above. How many people have this rope tied around their lives so tight that it is holding them back from moving forward? The bad part, they don't even know it. One of the main goals in life for all humans should be to walk in total forgivenes everyday. Medical studies have even proved that people who harbor unforgiveness end up sick in some way. I once knew a guy in my church that had rheumatoid arthritis that he knew was caused by his unforgiveness, yet he still chose to keep it harbored in his heart. If he does not have an epiphany he will have these ropes tied around him for the rest of his life.
Life will always challenge you with the choice of unforgiveness. Yes, I said CHOICE. All of life is made up of choices that we make. Our choicecs are what keep us bound or set us free. Our choices are the sum total of who we are and who we will become. Everyone has the choice to do drugs, get drunk, steal, cheat, lie, gossip, talk back to our parents, or, whateven negative attribute we choose to do. However, every negative or bad choice has a consequence, and those are what lead to a life filled with pain, dissapointment, hurt, addiction, rejection etc.
When we are faced with a situation, don't think of how your negative friends would respond, or, even your parents if they are wrong. Think about your future life and what you really want to reap from it. I know that I have made some bad choices in life, but if it wasn't for the grace of God I would be bound. However, I have learned a key to living that most people choose not to use and that key is called forgeveness. Unforgeveness is like drinking poison and thinking it will not hurt you. Eventually you are going to get sick and possible die. Unforgivenss allows the other person to control you without you even knowing it.
They win. You lose. End of Story!
I know it is hard when a parent, or good friend, spouse, a teacher, boss, or, your children hurt you. Even strangers can hurt you deeply, just ask people who have been hurt deeply by strangers on social media that are haters. Life is about knowing what emotions we as humans will feel and experience, and learning how to take control of those emotions. Even justified anger can lead you to a place of dark pain. Start today by cutting off the rope of unforgivenss. Forgive all those that have hurt you. Allow God to go deep into the crevices of your heart and remove it completely. He will if you can just chose to forgive.
I know, because he has done it for me. There have been several people dear to me in my life that have hurt me so bad that it was like sticking a sword through my heart. Yet, somehow, someway I chose to forgive them and let them go. Now I am free and they are accountable because I let go. They will now have to deal with the issues that caused the pain in the first place. Believe me, when you let them go . . . God deals with them. And that is so much better than you trying to.
Today is the day to CHOOSE forgiveness.
